This tool creates EAN-13 barcode images from values you provide. It can calculate or validate the final check digit, but it does not issue, register, license, verify or sell official EAN, GTIN, UPC, GS1, ISBN or music identifiers. For official retail product identifiers, get your numbers from GS1 or your local GS1 member organization.
EAN-13 and UPC-A are commonly used for retail point-of-sale product identification, but the barcode image is only the scannable representation of a product identifier. For music products, UPC/EAN codes identify a commercial release while ISRC identifies individual recordings. This tool can render valid EAN-13 values used for books, but it does not issue ISBNs.
