Check digits
UPC-A check digit validation
UPC-A uses 12 digits. The final digit is a check digit calculated from the first 11 digits. This tool can calculate the check digit for 11-digit values or validate the check digit for existing 12-digit UPC-A values.

Test data
Random UPC and sample values
You can use sample or random-looking UPC-A values for testing barcode rendering, scanner demos or internal mockups, but random UPC values should not be used as official retail, marketplace, Amazon, GS1, music or distribution identifiers. Official UPC/GTIN numbers must come from the proper issuing source.
Music releases. For music products, UPC/EAN/JAN codes identify a commercial release such as an album, EP, single or video. ISRC is different: it identifies individual songs or music videos. This tool only renders UPC-A barcode images from values you already provide; it does not issue music UPCs or ISRCs.
Trust & transparency
Clear about what this tool does
It renders UPC-A images and checks digits. It is not an issuer and not an Amazon tool.
Browser-side UPC-A generation
UPC-A rendering and file generation run in your browser. Raw UPC values, GTINs, product identifiers, file names or spreadsheet contents are not sent to analytics, logs or server-side processing.
Official UPC numbers, GS1 and marketplace use
This tool creates UPC-A barcode images from values you provide. It can calculate or validate the final check digit, but it does not issue, register, license, verify or sell official UPC, GTIN, GS1, Amazon, iTunes, FNSKU, ISBN or music identifiers.
It does not create an Amazon-approved product identifier, FBA label, shipment label or FNSKU label. Marketplaces may verify product identifiers, brand ownership, catalog data or GTIN validity, and requirements vary by platform, category, brand and exemption status.
